Devil Girl from Mars is a 1954 British science fiction film, directed by David MacDonald. Starring Hugh McDermott, Hazel Court, Peter Reynolds and Adrienne Corri. It was adapted from a stage play and became a cult favorite. The film is notable as the first science fiction film Gerry Anderson (Thunderbirds, UFO, Space: 1999) edited, and as the film that inspired Octavia Butler to begin writing science fiction, although her reasons were not flattering with respect to the movie. The robot named Chani was constructed by Jack Whitehead and was fully automated, although this machine suffered breakdowns during the filming.

Project Moonbase is a black and white 1953 science fiction film directed by Richard Talmadge. Starring Ross Ford, Donna Martell, Hayden Rorke and Larry Johns. The film is also known as Project Moon Base, and is based on a story by Robert A. Heinlein.
The film is unusual for its time in both attempting to portray space-travel in a 'realistic' manner, and for depicting a future in which women hold positions of authority and responsibility equal to men; in the script the President of the United States is a woman. This is counterbalanced, however, by the film's misogyny, wherein the female lead is portrayed as a "spoiled brat," and is threatened to be spanked by her male commander.
The interior set of the spaceship was later used in the film Cat Women of the Moon.

Appointment in Tokyo is a 1945 propaganda film released shortly after the surrender of Japan. It mainly follows General MacArthur and his men from their exile from the Philippines in early 1942, through the signing of the instrument of surrender on the USS Missouri on September 1, 1945.
The film is notable for its discussion of the problems MacArthur face in Australia after the conquest of the Philippines, the American militaries "hit'em where they ain't" strategy through the Solomons and Papua New Guinea, and especially the footage from the reconquest of the Philippines, including of Battle of Leyte, the Battle of Manila, and the rescue of American and Filipino POWs from Japanese prison camps. Directed by Jack Hively.
